In a well-attended political gathering today, Honorable Oduola Olumide Oduola, popularly known as ALAYÀKÍ, formally declared his intention to run for the office of Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government in the forthcoming local government election under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The declaration ceremony took place today Wednesday March 25, 2026 in Ward 9, the political base of the aspirant, drawing a large turnout of party faithful, community leaders, youth groups, and women leaders who gathered to show their support. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm as stakeholders described the event as a homecoming of sorts for a man they trust to lead the local government.

I am ready, and together, we will bring the dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of our local government.”
The cornerstone of Hon. ALAYÀKÍ’s declaration was his pledge to run an inclusive governance if elected. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize carrying along all segments of the society, regardless of political affiliation, age, or background.

“Governance must be a collective effort,” he noted. “I promise an inclusive government where every ward, every community, and every voice will matter. We will not govern by exclusion; we will build bridges, empower our youth, support our women, and ensure that the elderly are not left behind. Development must be felt by the market woman, the artisan, the farmer, and the civil servant alike.”

He further outlined a vision focused on grassroots development, citing key areas such as primary healthcare improvement, rural infrastructure (roads and drainage), youth empowerment programs, and support for agricultural initiatives to boost the local economy.
Following the declaration speech, Hon. Oduola was met with resounding applause and solidarity chants from the crowd.
