2027: Declaration Turns to Endorsement as Hon. Wale Ajala Declares Intention to Run for Ona-Ara State Assembly
Ona-Ara Local Government came alive on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as leading aspirant, Hon. Wale Ajala, officially declared his intention to contest for the Oyo State House of Assembly seat, representing Ona-Ara Constituency.
The declaration, held at the PDP local government secretariat, quickly transformed into a resounding endorsement, as party executives, ward leaders, and key stakeholders unanimously threw their weight behind him, citing his consistency, loyalty, and years of service to the party.
Leaders noted his political journey from contesting as an aspirant in 2019 and 2023, to serving as Campaign Coordinator for Governor Seyi Makinde’s 2023 re-election, and later as Chairman of the Ona-Ara Local Government Transition Committee as proof of his preparedness and qualification.
The declaration and stakeholders’ engagement drew the attention of party bigwigs in Ona‑Ara politics, such as:
